The Beaufort County Economic Development Corporation (BCEDC) proudly announces that Senior Project Manager, Kelli Brunson, has been awarded the 2025 South Carolina Economic Developers Association (SCEDA) Sloan W. Gable Scholarship. This scholarship provides Kelli the opportunity to attend the Economic Development Institute (EDI) through the University of Oklahoma, a premier executive development program for economic development professionals.
Named in honor of the late Sloan W. Gable, a pioneering leader in South Carolina economic development, this scholarship covers the program tuition and is conferred annually upon an outstanding SCEDA member. To qualify, recipients must demonstrate a minimum of two years’ professional experience in economic development, be a member of SCEDA for at least one year, and reside/work within the state region served by the association.

The University of Oklahoma EDI offers a rigorous 117-hour curriculum aligned with International Economic Development Council (IEDC) standards. The institute equips participants with cutting-edge knowledge and resources essential for navigating today’s dynamic economic landscape.
